Monks Court Bed and Breakfast
Monks Court Bed & Breakfast is
a comfortable and quiet 3 *** Tourist Board rated house on the edge of the beautiful village of East Hendred. Monks Court is convenient for all leisure and commercial activities being close to Harwell, Chilton, Milton Park, Lains Barn, Ardington House and the Ridgeway. All welcome, including children and dogs.
Monks Court is now offering a 2 or 3 course dinner with wine on Friday and Saturday evenings, but this must be booked in advance. Packed lunches and picnics are also available if booked in advance. |

Garden and Swimming Pool
Monks Court is surrounded by a mature garden and there is a heated swimming pool for use in the summer months. |
Rooms
There are 2 bedrooms are on the ground
floor, one twin with a private shower room and one double, also with a
private shower room. There is a further double on the ground floor but
this is only used when two rooms are taken by the same party as one of
the shower rooms would have to be shared. There is an additional double
room with private bathroom on the 2nd floor. All rooms have colour TV
and tea/coffee making facilities. Children of all ages are welcome but
please bring a cot for a baby. Well-behaved dogs (with their own beds)
are also welcome. |

Breakfast
A traditional English breakfast is
served in an attractive dining room on the 1st floor from 7 am to 9 am.
A continental or vegetarian option is available on request. |
Local Pubs and Shop
Guests at Monks Court Bed and
Breakfast will find that there are three excellent pubs in the village,
The Wheatsheaf , The Plough and The Eyston Arms. The Eyston Arms has
just been extensively refurbished and has been receiving rave reviews
in the press for its excellent food. All the pubs are approx. a
5-minute walk. There is also The Hare on the main road to Wantage. The
extremely well stocked village shop is open 7 days a week from 7am to 7
pm. |

East Hendred in Oxfordshire
East Hendred near
Wantage, Oxfordshire is a former medieval market town and a former
important centre for wool and cloth trade before Henry VIII's reign.
There are a number of Tudor houses and a 12th century Manor House which
has been lived in by the same family since 1443. Champs Chapel Museum, in a
converted chapel, is open on Sundays.

Location
The village is extremely well placed for both commercial and leisure
activities being only 15 mins. from Exit 13 on the M4, 12 miles south
of Oxford; 12 miles north of Newbury and 3-5 miles from Wantage and
Abingdon.
Monks Court is one of the most convenient places to stay for
functions at either LAINS BARN or ARDINGTON HOUSE. Both are approx. 2
miles away and a local taxi service can be booked from Monks Court for
delivery and collection.
Monks Court is on the southern edge of the
village and surrounded by beautiful countryside with a wealth of public
footpaths and bridleways. The Ridgeway Footpath is only 1.5 miles from
Monks Court and collection by car for weary walkers can booked in
advance.
The village is served by several local buses which regularly
go to Wantage, Oxford and Didcot Parkway. |
