Walking, Dogs and Cycling
For Walkers:
- The village of East Hendred is only 2 miles north of the Ridgeway National Trail and there are other wonderful walks in all directions from the village many of which lead to a pub or a café!
- We have a very comprehensive collection of OS maps and walking guides to help you plan your route and are happy to help you with local advice.
- We can pick up or deliver to a particular point and provide a picnic lunch if booked in advance.. Alternatively you can stock up at our village shop.
- We can also arrange for transportation of luggage for both walkers and cyclists with Golden Taxis, a reliable local taxi firm who offer a very competitive price
- We have a drying area for boots and wet clothes

If you wish to bring your dog that is not a problem! We can provide your dog with bedding and a warm place to sleep, bowls and food and if necessary a towel! The cost is £5 per dog per night.
For cyclists:
- Sustrans (www.sustrans.org.uk) Route 44 from Didcot to Wantage is 100 yards from the house. Route 44 joins with Route 5 at Didcot for Oxford and Reading.
- There is also a good network of bridleways suitable for mountain biking including some steep hills off The Ridgeway.
- We are experienced cyclists and happy to advise on routes or accompany you if necessary.
- We have a large and secure garage for storage of bikes at night and a drying area for wet clothes and boots
All in all everything you need for your active holiday!
